Safety program
Safety first. Safety always.
Shippers check this page before they trust you with freight, and drivers check it before they trust you with their license. Here is exactly how we run.
Every Maas Logistics tractor operates with a dash cam and Samsara electronic logging, and drivers complete a DOT pre-trip inspection before every dispatch.
ELD & telematics monitoring
Samsara ELD across the fleet records hours of service, speed and driving events, giving us objective data to coach from and shippers accurate ETAs.
Dash cameras in every tractor
Cameras protect good drivers as much as they document incidents — most of our footage reviews end with a driver being cleared.
Pre-trip inspection discipline
DOT pre-trip inspections before every dispatch, including on customer trailers in power-only service. Drivers who refuse unsafe equipment are supported, not second-guessed.
Preventive maintenance
A 2020–2025 tractor fleet on a scheduled PM program — brakes, tires, lights and airlines addressed before they become roadside violations.
Experience requirements
We hire CDL-A drivers 23 or older with 3+ years of verifiable experience, at least a year of trailer experience and a clean record.
Safety incentives
A $50 safety bonus is built into driver pay, and non-forced dispatch means nobody is pressured to drive tired to keep a load.
How shippers can verify us
We think every shipper should verify every carrier — including us. All of this is public and free:
- Check authority status and insurance filings on FMCSA's SAFER Company Snapshot
- Review inspection history and CSA BASIC percentiles in FMCSA's Safety Measurement System
- Ask for a certificate of insurance direct from the insurer or broker
- Require the tractor number and driver name before pickup on every load
- Require GPS tracking — we provide it on every load at no upcharge
Our USDOT and MC numbers are provided on request and with every rate confirmation. Safety department questions: (916) 770-7323.
