CDL Company Driver Hiring Checklist for Melissa & DFW (Fall 2026)

North Texas sits on I-35, I-20, I-30, and a dense warehouse belt. That density attracts real fleets and noisy recruiters. A short written checklist keeps you from sending half-complete applications that die in a inbox, and it keeps you from inventing answers to questions you do not know yet.

We run dry van and refrigerated freight across the 48 continental states. We are asset-based and do not re-broker your freight to another carrier after you book it with us.

Have these before you open the form:

1. Valid Class A CDL — yes or no is not a soft question. If you do not have it, finish school with an active ELDT Training Provider Registry school first (verify at tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov), then apply.
2. Current DOT medical card — expired medical stops the process.
3. Working email and phone — we need a real way to reach you. Public carrier contact on listings is dispatch@maaslogistic.com; your personal email stays yours for confirmations.
4. Verifiable tractor-trailer / OTR years — honest years only. Inflating experience wastes everyone’s time.
5. Last CDL employer — name and roughly when. We will ask for history that can be checked.
6. Endorsements you actually hold — list what is on the license, not what you plan to get next month.
7. OTR 48-states yes/no and start window — when you can actually pull under.
8. Drug test / background self-attest — answer truthfully. Surprises later kill trust.

We do not invent MVR minimums, weekly pay guarantees, home-time dollars, insurance dollars, or benefit dollars on the form. If a number is not written on our site, do not assume one.

Allowed Maas Logistics company-driver structure already published on site:

• Dry van: 50+ CPM
• Reefer: 60+ CPM
• Flatbed: 70+ CPM (when that equipment is in play)
• Non-forced dispatch
• Asset-based — freight is not re-brokered after you take it
• Samsara ELD

Anything beyond that (weekly averages, sign-on, per-diem, exact home-time calendar) belongs in a conversation with a manager after they review your application — not in a social post and not invented here.

Company driver: you drive company equipment under Maas authority. Use the company-drivers form.

Owner-operator / lease-on: you bring power (and sometimes trailer) and run under a percentage-of-gross structure (Maas publishes 87–90% of gross for OOs). Use the owner-operators form. For lease-on detail, read our Melissa/DFW owner-operator lease-on guide.

If you are unsure which seat fits, still pick the closer form and say so in the notes. Do not leave both blank.

2. We receive your info.
3. A manager reviews it.
4. If there is a potential fit, someone calls you to review next steps.

That is it. Submit is not a job offer, not a hire, and not a promise of pay. We will not use “pre-qualify” marketing language on the form or thank-you page because it confuses serious applicants.

• Parking and HOS pressure are real on Texas interstates; legal parking projects on I-30 in East Texas are expanding, but they do not replace a carrier that answers the phone when you need the next move.
