CDL-A Hiring Checklist for Dallas–DFW Drivers (Fall 2026)
October 2, 2026 · By Maas Logistics Dispatch · 7 min read
North Texas still needs experienced CDL-A drivers who can run OTR. What it does not need is another vague “apply now” page that invents weekly pay or pretends a form submit means you are hired. This checklist is for company drivers and owner-operators in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, McKinney, Melissa, Anna, and across the DFW metro who want a clear next step with an asset-based carrier.
Maas Logistics LLC (USDOT 3179194 / MC 124881) is based at 1817 Miller Rd #5, Melissa, TX 75454. We hire CDL-A company drivers and lease on owner-operators for dry van and reefer freight across the 48 continental states. Public contact: dispatch@maaslogistic.com · (916) 770-7323.
Company drivers: apply here. Owner-operators: apply here.
Why hiring feels tighter in fall 2026
Industry surveys into 2026 keep ranking driver shortage and turnover above fuel and freight as top carrier concerns. At the same time, FMCSA’s non-domiciled CDL final rule (effective March 16, 2026) narrowed who can hold certain credentials, so fleets are more careful about paperwork. For you as a driver, that means: clean documents and a real employment history beat a flashy ad.
We do not invent weekly gross, home-time dollars, insurance dollars, or MVR minimums on this page. On our company-driver pages we publish CPM ranges that are already on the site: 50+ CPM dry van, 60+ CPM reefer, and 70+ CPM flatbed when that equipment applies. Owner-operators: 87–90% of gross, non-forced dispatch. Ask Sergio on the call for anything else.
Checklist before you open the form
Have these ready (you will enter them on the form):
- Valid Class A CDL — yes or no (be honest).
- Current DOT medical card — yes or no.
- Verifiable tractor-trailer / OTR years (not “wannabe” miles).
- Last CDL employer name.
- Endorsements you actually hold.
- Company Driver vs Owner-Operator path.
- If OO: whether you have your own truck and/or authority.
- Whether you will run OTR 48 states.
- Earliest start window.
- Drug test / background self-attest (as asked on the form).
- Working phone and email (we call you).
If you cannot verify tractor-trailer time, pause and get your records straight first. Serious candidates only.
How applying works at Maas (plain English)
- Pick the correct form: company drivers or owner-operators.
- Submit your info. That means we received it — not that you are hired, not that you are “pre-qualified,” and not that a seat is locked.
- A hiring manager (Sergio) reviews and calls to talk through fit, equipment, and next steps.
- If you are a shipper looking for a truck instead, use the freight quote form.
Company driver vs owner-operator — pick one path
Company driver: You drive Maas equipment. Focus on CDL-A, medical card, OTR comfort, and a real work history. Pay language on site is CPM by equipment type (dry van / reefer / flatbed) — not invented weekly totals.
Owner-operator: You bring a truck (and authority if that is your model). Focus on equipment readiness, insurance reality, and lease-on fit. Site language: 87–90% gross, non-forced dispatch. We are asset-based and do not re-broker freight after you book with us as a shipper — and we expect OO partners who can actually move freight.
If you are unsure which form fits, start with the path that matches who owns the truck today, or call (916) 770-7323.
DFW / Melissa home base — what that means
Home base is Melissa, TX (Collin County, north DFW). We hire across Dallas–Fort Worth and Texas for OTR 48-state freight. Samsara ELD on the fleet. Fifteen trucks. Satisfactory safety rating if shown in site chrome — we do not invent a new %.
Local CDL schools and recent grads: finish your Class A, get your medical card, build verifiable miles, then apply when you meet the form fields. We filter for serious candidates, not tire-kickers.
Quick FAQ (no fluff)
Do I get hired when I submit? No. Submit = info received. Sergio calls to review.
Can I apply without a medical card? The form asks yes/no. Be truthful; you will need a valid card to drive.
Do you hire owner-operators without a truck? Use the OO form and answer the own-truck / authority questions honestly.
